     WELCOME!  "American Town Square" is devoted to the free marketplace of ideas, and the liberty to speak one's mind.  Here you will find my opinions and commentary. You may also find links to articles and websites of all types that I like and recommend.  

                           
     Social media platforms are suffocating the free expression of thought.  No subject is off limits here. 

     Why should you care what I think about the issues of the day and the direction of our nation?  Simply put, because I care what YOU think.  We are all in this together.  Americans are the citizens of the greatest nation that has ever been founded.  There is a growing collusion among Facebook, Twitter, etc., to stifle and suppress viewpoints on their platforms which are deemed insufficiently "woke".  That is the impetus for the founding of this forum.  What we believe about our country, the reality of globalism, the worldwide internet, and the obstacles and opportunities before us has never been more important than it is today.....Exercise your First Amendment rights HERE.  The only comments that will be deleted are threats, vulgarity, and the like.  I promise I will not delete even what I may consider demonstrable lies.  I will, however, counter them.

        A  little about me--I'm Richard Carlson, born in 1960, in Teaneck, NJ, and grew up in Bergen County, NJ.  I am a soon-to-be retired member of Philadelphia Steamfitters Local Union 420.  I am the proud single father of three grown children, a semi-retired part time musician, an entrepreneur, and a bit of a dilettante of history and politics.  I believe that the "American Dream"--or whatever YOUR life's dream may happen to be--is yours to pursue and to realize...."A goal is a dream with a plan attached".
